I though that this book was for me。 I am getting up at 5am。 But not - this book is full of advices like: do not spend much time on social media。 Author had to say few things like: get up at 5am when all other people are still sleeping - you can use that time for personal development。 That's ok but you do not need to write a long book with that one advice。 This book is a story of a woman and a man who were invited by a billionaire to his privet island。 He wants to teach them benefits of getting u I though that this book was for me。 I am getting up at 5am。 But not - this book is full of advices like: do not spend much time on social media。 Author had to say few things like: get up at 5am when all other people are still sleeping - you can use that time for personal development。 That's ok but you do not need to write a long book with that one advice。 This book is a story of a woman and a man who were invited by a billionaire to his privet island。 He wants to teach them benefits of getting up at 5am。 Do not waste your time with that book。 。。。more

Oh God。。。 couldn't go past 50% of this book。。。 I really disliked the way it was narrated in the audiobook and the writing in general was bazaar! It reminded me of our principle at high school giving us every morning some pep talk- it is boring and so unrealistic which is funny, cause this book should be realistic。 The author made a big deal about a morning routine。 Oh God。。。 couldn't go past 50% of this book。。。 I really disliked the way it was narrated in the audiobook and the writing in general was bazaar! Very good book。 !!!

The book is a compilation of all recent studies on human behavior, wellness and health recommendation, compilad in a story (I really don’t like much), but is interesting, it has some tables and notes to use。 For me was useful to get up early in morning, I start the exercise, following the rules and is working!

Sorry but I couldn’t make it。 I appreciate the wisdom that comes from the book, some fragments are truly inspiring and I saved a lot of quotes。 But the storytelling is simply terrible。 I tried hard to finish it, unfortunately, it hasn’t been given。 I can’t recommend the book。

I was curious about why some people I know want to get up at 5am。。。outside of me when I worked at Stanford (lol)。 However, I was so enlightened by the principles in this book。 I still have a hectic job so this will help me accomplish more out of my day。 Worthwhile for others to read。

Everything that is explained in this book could have been said in one blog post。 Really disappointed and i think not worth the time。

Painfully, spectacularly trite book that meanders through a childish fable written in 90's "Who Moved My Cheese"with style, complete with 1-dimensional characters who simply spout endless quotes from world leaders, and Valley Girl exclamations like "Powerful insight!" and "My mind is being blown right now!" The only thing this book did for me was remind me that I'm working on a better morning habit。 Unreadable。 I only made it through because it was an audiobook I could half ignore。 Painfully, spectacularly trite book that meanders through a childish fable written in 90's "Who Moved My Cheese"with style, complete with 1-dimensional characters who simply spout endless quotes from world leaders, and Valley Girl exclamations like "Powerful insight!" and "My mind is being blown right now!" While there was some somewhat average advice here about waking up early, there was also some objectively awful life advice。 Won’t be recommending this to anyone。

"Finally-get this-he started twerking。 Yes, the illustrious industrialist who was worth over one billion dollars was twerking in that hotel suite。" A self-help guide on how to change your habits and transform yourself into a world-class leader by waking up at 5 a。m。 every day。 I do not read self-help and this book reminded me why。 I have never rated a book 1 ⭐ before。 If it's worthy of 1 ⭐ I will have DNFd before I get to the rating and review phase。 Why did I continue to read this book? Partly because I truly wanted to know the secret of how to wake up at 5 a。m。 every morning and become my best self。 A promise that is made again and again throughout these pages。 Unfortunately the mechanics of how to achieve this transformation aren't even hinted at until the very end。 But then I realized I was hate-reading this book because it was providing a excellent guide on how NOT to write。 First Sharma dips into one character's head and right into another's before diving back into the first character's, then switching the point of view to someone else entirely。 All in the same paragraph。 Midway through this same paragraph, he'd switch to 2nd person to inform the reader what they would be feeling were they there。 It was a rude and presumptive experience。 The guru is an idiot。 He is referred to as the tycoon, the millionaire, the industrialists, the magnaet, the titan, and too many other assignations to remember。 He takes his "students" to India where he promptly slips on a turban。 🤮 Then off to Italy where he dons a running suit while they jet around the catacombs on Vespas。 🤔 This is in between dropping down and performing 10 push-ups in the middle of a conversation。 He regularly calls people "cats" and uses the word "gnarly。"  Birds flock to him like he's Cinderella and dolphins leap for joy when they're in his presence。 It was just ridiculous。 Then one student saves the other one's life in the weakest way imaginable all because of the skills she has attained participating in the 5 a。m。 club。。。oh my。 Needless to say, I was so distracted by the terrible writing and absurd storytelling that I completely missed the point and have yet to even attempt getting up at 5 a。m。 。。。more

I am grateful to all the other reviewer who inspired me to put this one down and not pick it back up。 This is a great example of why you should use your local library audiobook app。 I spent a run and an afternoon cutting grass listening to this and realized I'd had enough。 No money wasted, though, which is a win。 I am grateful to all the other reviewer who inspired me to put this one down and not pick it back up。 This is a great example of why you should use your local library audiobook app。 I spent a run and an afternoon cutting grass listening to this and realized I'd had enough。 No money wasted, though, which is a win。 。。。more

It started like a funny parody of motivational books。 It is just full of stereotypes and lot of ideas from other books stuffed in a very week story line。 A big waste of time。

A story about a billionaire teaching an entrepreneur and an artist on how to lead a successful life。Note here that the author himself isn’t a billionaire, so none of the book actually holds any weight。 I do wonder if the whole story was set up to avoid this contradiction。There’s a few vague key points surrounded by endless story waffle, as well as the mantra “Own your morning。 Elevate your life。” I really don’t believe getting up at 5AM specifically is going to change your life, it really just s A story about a billionaire teaching an entrepreneur and an artist on how to lead a successful life。Note here that the author himself isn’t a billionaire, so none of the book actually holds any weight。 I do wonder if the whole story was set up to avoid this contradiction。There’s a few vague key points surrounded by endless story waffle, as well as the mantra “Own your morning。 Elevate your life。” I really don’t believe getting up at 5AM specifically is going to change your life, it really just seems like some arbitrary number plucked out of nowhere。I do get the point about waking up early to enjoy uninterrupted time to focus on work, though that could be said for any time in the morning。 If you’ve got people going off to work at 8:30, for example, getting up at 9:00 isn’t such a bad idea。Stone also tells them to meet at 5AM at different locations, so I imagine they would have to get up even earlier than that to actually make it。This book could be so much shorter。He also repeats himself a fair few times, as well as generally unrealistic dialogues, like the characters being able to churn out perfect quotes and phrases from many different authors without hesitation, and Stone literally interrupting the dialogue with a random quote he thought “would be relevant”, which is a funny way of saying the author couldn’t find a way to make it fit within the context of the story。I also find it funny how he gives up with the story about 4/5 of the way through and just gives you a whole bunch of information at once, presented on pieces of paper that Stone gives, which are directed in second person and delivered more or less like a traditional self-help book。I did learn a few things (vague thinking leads to vague results and the idea of managing your bubble of uninterrupted focus), though honestly I feel a little guilty about it, like the amount of time (~80 hours) I could have learnt a whole lot more from a better structured book。 。。。more
